Concession set up begins at 10:00.
Huron Valley Special Olympics this Saturday, 5/19
As many as you are aware, the Huron Valley Special Olympics will be holding a special event at Lakeland HS this Saturday. Recently, our council became a major sponor for this worthy cause.
At 10:00 am, there will be a parade for all the sponsors. We are invited to participate. If you can make it for the parade, arrive by 9:40 and we'll be placed in order at 9:45am. I'm assuming we'll parade around the track and not much more than that. Then the events begin.
I spoke with Darlene Garrison and some help is still needed. It includes helping with the concessions and passing out awards. The events last to about 3:30pm. If you can help out with the concessions or handing out awards, please send me an email with the times you can be there. i need to send a list of names and times to Darlene no later than Friday morning 9:00am.
Be sure to wear your red Knight's shirts.

update on Larry Donnellon
I just spoke with Larry's wife Dolores and Larry is heavily sedated and intubated. The neurosurgeon thinks his issues are related to his heart and needs a pace maker. So that is the plan right now and could be in the hospital for awhile, waiting to have his pace maker installed.
Dolores sounded good for all they have been through in the past 24 hours or so. She is surrounded and supported by her family and she thanks the Knights for all their prayers.
Nominations for Council Officers for next FY
We continue to accept nominations for next year's officers (July 2012 thru June 2013). If you are interested in running for office or would like to nominate a fellow council member, you have May and June general business meetings to make your nomination. Election takes place at our June general business meeting.

Request Prayers for Larry Donnellon / Corporate Communion
Hi all.
I just received word that Brother Larry Donnellon was camping and has taken ill and has beeb taken to St. John's Providence. I do not have any other details at the moment but will send out another blog when I hear something more.
Please keep Larry and his family in your daily prayers and a quick recovery.
Also, our council is having a Corporate Communion at 10:00am Mass on Sunday 5/6. Please try to attend and wear your Knights red shirt and plan on sitting near the front of the church.

Mass for the Unborn and Lenten Fish Fry Dinners
Also, just 2 more weeks of Lenten Fish Fry Dinners. If you haven't had a chance to attend the dinners or help in the kitchen, time is running out. We could always use some extra help with food prep, serving or clean up. If you want to help out with the food prep and the 5:00 rush, please arrive at 4:00pm. If you want to help clean up, we usually begin around 7:00 and it runs for another 2 hours. Just to remind you, the dinners are served from 5:00pm - 8:00pm. Carryout is also available.
Our next Officer's meeting is Tuesday, 4/2 at 7:00pm and our next General Business meeting is Thursday, 4/12 at 7:30pm in the Church hall. Please note that at our next General Business meeting, we will begin the process of accepting nominations for officers for our next calendar year (July 2012 - June 2013). If you are interesting in running for an office or would like to nominate someone from our council, please attend one of the next 3 meetings. Voting is at our June meeting. You must be a 3rd degree member to run for an office.
